Wolfgang Wendel has made a name for himself as a soloist and lecturer at international festivals in Australia, South America, Ukraine, Costa Rica, Russia (Rimsky-Korsakow Conservatory, St. Petersburg), Taiwan, the European Flute Festival in Frankfurt or at the „Flute Convention 2003 and 2009“ of the American „National Flute Association“ in Las Vegas and New York, especially for the interpretation of contemporary music. His field of activity also includes the composition of contemporary works with compositions (some of which are published by the „Verlag Neue Musik Berlin“) such as „Indian Dream“ for flute, „Wind“ for bass flute „Quo vadis Elise?“ for piccolo, flute and alto flute or „Reflections on Tamsui“ for Chinese diciflute. He has made radio and CD recordings as a result of his participation in contemporary music ensembles such as „Aventure“, „Nunc“ or the „Gegenwelten-Festival-Ensemble Heidelberg“, as well as his participation in various festivals for new music.
